FAQs
How does Kickstarter work?
Kickstarter is a platform that allows creatives to crowdfund their project months before its completion. Creators create an account and get verified as authentic creators and business owners before being allowed to launch their Kickstarter.
Supporters are then allowed to pledge to support in exchange for the product and rewards. It is called a pledge because the funds are not immediately taken out of each supporter's bank account. The creator must reach their goal before they can receive any funds. If the goal is not met, none of the supporters are debited and the creator gets nothing from Kickstarter.
If the goal is met, supporters are debited and Kickstarter pays the creator. Kickstarter also takes a 10% fee of the raised amount as a commission.
Pledges in Naira will be debited immediately and count towards preorders.
What are the funds for?
The funds from The Peoples of Nigeria Kickstarter will be used for creating, producing, marketing, and distributing The Peoples of Nigeria book.
Please view the detailed financial breakdown on About The Peoples of Nigeria.
Why should I order so long in advance?
I understand that waiting so long to receive a purchase can be frustrating. However, I would please beg for your patience. Because The Peoples of Nigeria will be self-published through Amazon KDP, we need the funds to be able to market and distribute the book properly from its launch date.
How else can I support besides pledging?
You can please support the Kickstarter by sharing it with your family, friends, and social media communities. You can especially share with people who have young children, and who run institutions that provide or support children’s education.
You may also share with businesses that may be willing to support.
Thank you so much!
